Alzheimer Disease

Alzheimer's disease is a brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks.
Example: Alzheimer's disease is a debilitating neurodegenerative disorder that afflicts millions of adults worldwide and the main cause of late-life dementia.

gray matter

the darker tissue of the brain and spinal cord, consisting mainly of nerve cell bodies and branching dendrites.
Example: Accelerated brain aging in SZ patients was also reported based on longitudinal study of MRI-based gray matter density maps.
